Taking a traditional bath is one of our country’s favorite traditions. In Ark SPA Palace we create an imitation of a traditional oven. Our traditional oven is located around the corner from the bathhouse. In the bathhouse we use wooden benches, oak and birch brooms. All this creates the spirit of a real bathhouse and gives you the pleasure of visiting it.

Vascular dilation, increased heartbeat and increased breathing in the bath leads to efficient oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide release. Active sweating (from 0.5 to 1.5 liters) increases the action of sebaceous glands, the skin is cleansed, and toxins are eliminated.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A VISIT TO A TRADITIONAL BATHHOUSE

There is no need to wash with soap and water before the steam room. Take a shower – we have plenty of showers next to the steam rooms and in the locker room for your convenience. Do not wet your head to make it easier to bear the heat. It is recommended to visit the sauna 4-5 hours after eating. Do not go on an empty stomach – it is better to eat some fruit or vegetables. You don’t have to worry about snacks, as there is an acre spa restaurant on the territory of our complex. In the steam room you can wear a felt cap and wet it with cold water.

HOW DO YOU STEAM IN A BATHHOUSE?

To get used to the heat, you need to sit or lie down for a few minutes at the very bottom, and then gradually rise higher. Optimal temperature and humidity are created by splashing boiling water on the heated stones in small portions, which makes the steam less humid, “light” or “soft”. For proper blood circulation and the greatest relaxation of muscles it is important that the body is evenly heated, for this purpose it is better to lie in the steam room, periodically changing the position of the body.

The snow room is a unique opportunity to experience a sharp contrast after the warmth of the steam room. Snow instantly refreshes, tones and invigorates, leaving a unique sensation. Our snow contains only pure water, which makes the procedure completely safe and natural.

The best way to cool down between visits to the steam room is a shower or a cold pool near the sauna. Plunge into the pool gradually, without diving in and getting your head wet. Cooling with ice water or rubbing in the snow room – an excellent anti-stress. Contrast procedures strengthen vessels, improve blood circulation and relieve fatigue. Beginners are recommended to gradually increase the temperature difference: 3 minutes under hot water and 1 minute under cold water, repeating 3-4 times. The maximum effect from the bath is achieved by following the cycle “heating – cooling – rest”.

How do you take a traditional bath?

We recommend to make 2-3 visits to the steam room. The duration of visits is 8-10 minutes, as well as the duration of 1 single visit depends on the individual characteristics of the body.

Duration of stay in the steam room, including all visits, should not exceed 30-40 min. Rest between visits – 15-20 min.

You should replenish moisture after the bath with herbal tea. Small sips at intervals you can drink up to 1 liter. Tea has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, has medicinal properties, provides necessary vitamins and expels toxins.

How do you end a bathing session?

Finish the bathing procedure with a cool shower and rest in the sleep room.

Visiting our baths 1-2 times a week, after a month vigor and good mood will be your constant companions.

Limitations and indications for visiting a traditional bathhouse

Restrictions on visiting a traditional sauna are influenced by health conditions or colds. Caution should be exercised in the steam room in case of heart failure. People with respiratory diseases, on the contrary, are shown regular visits to the sauna. The lungs take in the healing warmed air of the steam room mixed with natural wood secretions.
